We’ll pick you up at Belfast City Hall, or from your hotel if it’s in Belfast city centre, and you’ll be personally welcomed aboard a luxury coach and looked after by a local guide. Sit back and settle in for your Saints & Spirits Tour as your experienced local driver steers you through the lushly rolling Northern Ireland countryside.
This will be a day of emotion, spirituality and beauty, threaded through with good old-fashioned Irish craic. It’s a time to get in touch with your soul and experience an emotional journey in the company of warm and welcoming local people.
First stop is the Somme Heritage Centre where you’ll hear powerful stories of heroism and sacrifice.
Next, we’ll travel to Downpatrick Cathedral, where Saint Patrick is believed to be buried. You’ll be amazed by Saint Patrick’s links to Ulster – it’s here he tended sheep as a slave, and where he built his first church. You’ll hear plenty more stories and uncover the history of the area while you’re here.
Then we’ll hop aboard the ferry to cross the remarkable and beautiful Strangford Lough. Believed to have been named by the Vikings, the Lough is home to over 2000 species of marine animals. Internationally important flocks of wildfowl and wading birds converge on the shores in winter.
After stopping for a light lunch at a local eatery, we’ll finish at Echlinville Distillery, hidden away among the drumlins of the Ards Peninsula. Here you’ll enjoy a Taste & Tipple and a chance to try the unique spirits they craft here.
This is a day full of very special moments, a day to treasure forever.
